Prince George, B.C.  One person has died in a crash on Highway 16 east,  about 21 kms  east of Purden.

This was a single vehicle crash as the vehicle  went off the road.   The passenger  has died.  There is no immediate word on the condition of the driver.

Initial  investigations indicate speed and alcohol are not factors in this  incident.  Driver fatigue may have  been a contributing factor, but the investigation is  in its very early stages.

Highway 16  is reduced to single lane alternating traffic  at this time.
