Electricity Restored
Prince George, B.C. – The power has been restored to nearly 6 thousand BC Hydro customers in Prince George who have been off the grid for the past couple of hours.
B.C. Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer says crews discovered a couple of hydro lines which had wrapped around each other at Foothills and 15th, While there is no explanation as to why those wires would have come in contact with each other, they did “phase” causing a fault.
Gammer says while the majority of customers are back on line, it is possible there may be still be a pocket or two where power remains off line. If that it is the case, customers who are still without power should contact BC Hydro to let them know the location. You can call 1-800-224-9376 or *49376 on your mobile.
The outage impacted much of Prince George west of Highway 97 through Miworth, north of 22nd Avenue to the North Nechako Road neighbourhood.

must be either more birds or global warming and climate change…. or could it be because Hydro is careless and not doing the proper upkeep and/or selling power to the US?
Wind perhaps.???
there was no real wind, definitely not enough to do any damage
Both wrong – somebody hit a guy wire. It broke, sprang up, and fouled the conductors causing a trip.

Won’t the new smart meters be able to let hydro know who still doesn’t have power?
not until they are actually turned on to report.
