Dominion Day Celebration at Huble Homestead

Saturday, July 1, 2017 @ 6:56 AM

Prince George, B.C. – One of the great places to visit when thinking of Canada celebrating 150 years of history is our very own Huble Homestead Historic site north of the city.

The folks at the homestead, 40 km north of Prince George, are holding an old-fashioned Dominion Day event to mark the nation’s sesquicentennial celebration today.  Highlighting the event is a “Parades of Patriotism” display that shows the many ways in which pioneer families would have celebrated July 1st.

Other activities include games and races, contests, crafts, musical entertainment, heritage demonstrations and a special Canadian treasure hunt.  There’s also going to be a Huble Homestead parade, and everyone is invited to enjoy a piece of Canada birthday cake.

Dominion Day celebrations run from 10 am to 4 pm and yes, your pooch is more than welcome to come out and celebrate Canada Day, too.
