Prince George, B.C. – Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Prince George area.The agency says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong winds and large hail which can cause injury and damage property.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.  Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops.

Residents are advised to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada throughout the day.
