Prince George, B.C.-  BC Wildfire  firefighters are  working on a  wildfire located about 72 kms on the Finlay Forest Service Road near the south end of Williston Lake.

The fire was reported late yesterday afternoon and is  estimated to be about 6 hectares in size.

Amanda Reynolds with the Prince George Fire Centre says  there  have been 9 crew members working on  containment lines overnight “We did  manage to have an air tanker wrap the fire in  retardant”

The fire  has not  seen any  significant growth overnight.

While the cause of the fire has not been  determined,  it is suspected this one  was sparked by lightning which  rolled through the region earlier this week .

At noon today,  fire restrictions come into  effect  throughout the Prince George Fire Centre.  (see previous story)
