Williams Lake, B.C. – The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a newly sparked wildfire near the Williams Lake Airport.

According to the agency’s Twitter feed, the one-hectare blaze started today and is located northeast of the airport.

Fire crews, an airtanker and helicopter support is on scene. No word yet on the cause. Smoke is visible from the surrounding area.
