Highway Closure Update

Prince George, B.C. – Finally, some good news for motorists as portions of highway around the Interior have reopened.
According to Drive BC, Highway 97 from the Junction with Horsefly-Likely Road, in 150 House to Williams Lake has reopened. Highway 97 has also reopened in both directions 2 kilometres north of 100 Mile House to 20 kilometres north of Lac La Hache.
In addition to that, Highway 20 has reopened 14 kilometres east of Alexis Creek to 30-kilometres east of Alexis Creek.
All were closed due to intense wildfire activity on Friday
Despite the openings, some stretches of highway remain closed including:
- Highway 97 in both directions at Junction with Highway 99. Alternate route via Highway 1/97 Cache Creek to Kamloops, Highway 5 to Little Fort, Highway 24 to 93 Mile on Highway 97.
- Highway 97 in both directions from Junction with Highway 1, at Cache Creek to Clinton. Alternate route via Highway 99 to Highway 12 to Lytton.
- Highway 97 from Quesnel to 15 kilometres south of Quesnel. Detour available via Highway 97 to Prince George on Highway 16 to Tete Jaune Cache then Highway 5 to Kamloops.
