Prince George, B.C. – The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has issued an evacuation alert for the McBride Timber Road South area.

There are approximately 50 properties in the alert area. It was prompted by a four-hectare wildfire which started earlier today.

Crews from the Beaverly and Pineview volunteer departments along with a crew from the BC Wildfire Service continue to work on the first west of Prince George.

The public is asked to visit the RDFFG website at www.rdffg.bc.ca for updated information. Residents can also call 250-960-4475.

The blaze already forced one family on Lamar Road to evacuate today.
