100 Mile House, B.C. – The roughly 2,000 residents of 100 Mile House won’t be going home anytime soon.
Today the Cariboo town extended its evacuation order for at least another week. They first issued the order Sunday night.
This as the 5,000 hectare Gustafsen fire continues to rage nearby.
Many of the evacuees have sought refuge in Prince George. Evacuation orders and alerts are also in place for 103 Mile House, 105 Mile House, the western side of Lac La Hache, and the 108 Mile Ranch community.

When the Barriere fires happened in 2003 it was three weeks before my mom and stepdad 3 could return as power, water, sewer all had to be checked, flushed and drained along with making sure basic nessecities were available
I imagine that it will be similar this time but time will tell
