BC Wildfire Service Has Interactive Map of Fires

Tuesday, July 18, 2017 @ 12:10 PM

Prince George, B.C. – The BC Wildfire Service  has made it a little easier to find  the latest information on  the  major fires burning in the Province.

The wildfire map,  which   shows locations of  wildfires of note,  and new fires,  is now interactive.

Anyone can click on any of the  flame  or  dot markers,   and get the latest information  on that particular fire.

Typically, fire information is updated  between 8:30 and 10 every morning.

You can click on the  image at right to  access the interactive map.   It may take a few seconds to load  so  be patient.

Thanks for the link….

The USDA Forest Service also has a very nifty application that uses Google Earth to show fire size, location, etc. You do need to install Google Earth on your device to make it work.
