Clearwater, B.C. – Mounties have arrested a pair of prolific offenders – including one from Prince George – at a vehicle stop in Clearwater.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the arrests occurred Monday morning while two officers were performing wildfire area patrols on Highway 5.

“Officers stopped a vehicle which was driven by a female who was found to be driving while prohibited,” he says. “She was immediately identified by one of the officers as a prolific offender from Prince George and Kamloops.”

Moskaluk says the male passenger gave Mounties a false name and fled after arrested though he was captured by officers a short time later.

He says a search of the vehicle yielded a loaded 357 Magnum revolver and a 25 Calibre Colt handgun. Other weapons and drugs were also found on the male passenger.

Charges have been laid against 27-year-old Angeline Hammerstrom of Prince George, who is facing a number of charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possessing a prohibited firearm with ammunition, driving while prohibited and carrying a concealed weapon.

Charges were also laid against 19-year-old Tristan Paul Olson of Kamloops. He’s been charged with a number of offences including possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possessing a prohibited firearm with ammunition.

Both are scheduled to appear in court July 26 in Kamloops.
