Village of Clinton Under Evacuation Order

Saturday, July 29, 2017 @ 6:02 PM

Prince George, B.C. – The Village of Clinton has been ordered evacuated due to a rapidly-moving wildfire burning near the community.

Mayor Jim Rivett says the village has issued the order affecting everyone within the village, with the exception of the Chasm Mill site, because of the potential danger to life and health.

Those within the community must leave immediately, shutting off all gas and electrical appliances on the way out.  People requiring support services such as food and accommodation are to register at the Sandman Centre at 300 Lorne Street in Kamloops.

Those with livestock or large animals in need of shelter are to contact the Thompson Nicola Regional District Emergency Operations Centre at 1-866-377-7188.

All evacuees who do not need the above services are still required to register with the Red Cross at 1-800-863-6582 or online at www.redcross.ca
