Firefighters Busy in Kelowna

Prince George, B.C. – Firefighters are busy battling a blaze that broke out in North Kelowna this afternoon.The fire is locate atop Know Mountain, which is on the east side of Okanagan lake just to the north of downtown Kelowna.  A Kelowna Resident who lives five minutes from the mountain says the fire first appeared around 2 o’clock this afternoon.

Firefighters are being aided by helicopter bucket drops.

Cause of the fire is not know.  This blaze is in the same general area as a fire which destroyed eight homes earlier this month.

No,it isn’t in the same general area as the arson fire earlier this month. It’s almost 20kms away.

It was only a matter of time a fire ignited up there. The amount of people and vehicles climbing it is incredible.
