‘A Day of Cultures’ Coming to P.G.
Prince George, B.C. – Those wanting to experience a taste of the diverse cultures in northern B.C. are invited to ‘A Day of Cultures’ later this summer.
It’s being organized by Draako Event Management and will take place Sept. 16 at the Columbus Community Centre (7201 Domano Blvd) from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All proceeds will go to the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society.
“This is the first ‘Day of Cultures’ actually,” says Ravi Saxena, co-owner of Draako Management and executive director of IMSS. “This event is to help people understand and respect the diversity of people. The main goal is showcase various cultures and the spirit of community and diversity under one roof.”
He estimates anywhere from 12-20 cultures will be represented and will include traditional food, music and performances.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students while children under 10 get in free.
Tickets will be available at the door. Those communities wanting to participate should call 250-981-3107 by Aug. 15.
