Clinton, B.C. – Mounties have set up a dedicated tip line to help figure out what caused the Elephant Hill fire.

That number is 1-855-685-8788. In the meantime, the RCMP and BC Wildfire Service continue their investigation.

“BC Wildfire Service have identified the origin of the fire and in conjunction with the RCMP there is an ongoing investigation,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. “The two agencies are working together in efforts to make a full determination on the cause of the fire. The RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance and is seeking any information regarding this fire.”

The blaze started July 6 and has grown to over 78,000 hectares in size. It’s 30 per cent contained.

This weekend the fire forced the evacuation of Clinton and 70 Mile House.
