Prince George, B.C. – For the fourth consecutive year, the Prince George Relay for Life has raised the most money in Canada.
Today the Canadian Cancer Society confirmed the news. The 25th annual Relay for Life in Prince George – held in May at Masich Place Stadium – raised $575,000, beating out much larger cities like Toronto.
“The passion that all of the volunteers, participants and donors have for Relay is inspiring and I believe that is why Relay is so successful in Prince George,” says Prince George Relay spokesperson Aimee Cassie. “We want to say a huge thank you to the community for their dedication, commitment, and support of the Canadian Cancer Society.”
More than 365 events were held Canada-wide – raising a whopping $23.5 million – with money still coming in.
All money raised in Prince George will go towards cancer research and support services like the Kordyban Lodge.

As a person who volunteers each year, in a very minor role I must admit that the Relay renews my hope in people in so many ways. It helps me keep going the rest of the year in dealing with life. Way to go all of those who have had to deal with Cancer either in person or a loved one.
