Williams Lake, B.C. – Expect to see columns of smoke immediately west of Williams Lake for the next while.

The BC Wildfire Service residents can expect to see columns of smoke rising from within the Wildwood Lake wildfire today and in the coming days.

“These columns of smoke are originating from hotspots within the fire’s perimeter and they become more visible with a rise in temperature and wind activity,” it says. “These smoke columns are expected to be visible over the next few weeks.”

Fire crews are monitoring the hot spots and will continue to action them as necessary. The Wildfire Service says the blaze is 20 per cent contained and continues to remain within the current perimeter.
