Man Fined for Setting Off Fireworks
Williams Lake, B.C. – A 34-year-old Williams Lake man was fined early this morning for setting off fireworks in the Carson Road area.
Williams Lake RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says the man told police he set the fireworks off in celebration of returning home after his evacuation.
“It is careless acts such as this that have the real potential to trigger even more interface wildfires in the area,” he says.
O’Donaghey says the man “sobered up” overnight in his cell and was later released though not before he was fined over $1,000 for allegedly dropping, releasing or mishandling a burning substance as well as ignoring restrictions under the BC Wildfire Act.
He says police would like to thank the public for calling in the complaint noting the outcome could have been much worse.

You have dumb and dumber then you have dumbest.
Well now I’ve heard everything….sure suck to be this guy
**sigh** you can’t fix stupid….
He can dispute the fine, because the fine was the result of an allegation. An allegation is an accusation that is made when there is little or no proof.

So admittance is an allegation now? You sure are trying hard to defend the guilty. BTW the word allegation appeared nowhere in the article.
Not to mention that they found empty fireworks canisters on his property??
HAHAHAHAHA! This guy us a freaking IDIOT! Holy Hanna what a moron.
Welcome home!
Now I know why booze is taxed so heavily .
It’s only half off-topic, but with a blanket ban across the whole province, why was Vancouver still allowed to have that firework festival the other day? I know it’s on the water and safe and all, but they’re still technically under a ban are they not?
