Prince George, B.C. – If you witnessed the fatal crash on Highway 16, west of Prince George earlier this month, police would like to hear from you.
The accident – which claimed two lives – occurred on Wednesday Aug. 9 at 5:45 p.m. on Highway 16 near Guest Road. A Chevy Cavalier heading west crossed the centre line and struck a loaded logging truck.
The two people in the car were deceased at the scene. The driver of the logging truck suffered what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are now hoping that the public can help identify the driver of a Silver Dodge Ram pickup who they believe may have been first on scene.
“The photo is of poor quality, but police hope that someone will be able to identify the vehicle,” says North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson. “The people in that vehicle may have information that can assist police in their investigation.”
Anyone who can help is asked to call North District Traffic Services at 250-649-4004.
