East Kootenay Feeling Impact of Wildfires

Prince George, B.C. – It is the East Kootenay region that is now feeling the impact of wildfires.
The Lamb Creek fire has forced the evacuation of Moyie townsite, south to Stone Creek including Eagles Nest RV Resort Braunagel Road and Moyie Shores Estates. In all 233 properties are under evacuation order.
This is the second evacuation order in the region, following an order issued last night for the northern area of Moyie, Mineral and Monroe Lakes.
In addition, all Crown land within the Rocky Mountain Natural resource District is closed to the public
Flights from Cranbrook to Calgary have been cancelled, however Pacific Coastal flights to and from Vancouver are still operating.
