Prince George, BC- There is good news in the Cariboo,  where the  Regional District has given the all clear to a number of properties,  removing the evacuation alerts that have kept people ‘at the ready’ for  two months.

Evacuation alerts have been lifted for the following areas:

Adjacent areas remain on evacuation order.

Although the  alerts have been lifted for some regions, and  orders downgraded,   Emergency Management B.C. Executive Director Chris Duffy  says that doesn’t mean  the danger  is over.”These downgrades  area  sign  that our situation is still moving in a positive direction,  but there is still a fair bit of hazard out there.”

There are still  19 evacuation orders in effect in the Province,  forcing  about 4808 people from their homes, a further 11,622 are on evacuation alert.
