Prince George, B.C. – The 8th annual Bike-A-Thon sponsored by the Punjabi Canadian Society rolls out of Prince George bright and early this morning.

Participants in the annual bike ride to Purden Lake and back (if they so choose) head out to raise money for a specific healthcare initiative identified by the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.  This year’s ride proceeds will go toward the purchase of a suite of ECHO ultrasounds for cardiac diagnosis and emergency care at University Hospital of Northern BC.

The riders leave the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple on Davis Road at 7:45 this morning and will take part in a celebratory lunch at Purden Lake at 12:30 pm.
