Provincial State of Emergency to End

Prince George, B.C. – The Provincial State of Emergency that was declared on July 7th because of the wildfires, will come to an end at midnight tonight.
The state of emergency was declared on July 7, and was extended four times over the nine weeks that followed.
Although the state of emergency is being allowed to expire, the wildfire season continues.
There are still 153 wildfires burning in the province, and 3,152 people remain on evacuation order while another 5,762 are on evacuation alert.
Emergency Management B.C. is calling on the public to stay prepared, just in case, and to follow the direction of local authorities.
