City to Host Evacuation Bash
Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George has released information via social media that it is throwing a party for everyone in the city who had aided the effort to make wildfire evacuees welcome this summer.
In a post on the City’s Facebook page Mayor Lyn Hall says “this summer we did something extraordinary, we welcomed more than 10,000 people into our community. 10.000 people who were fleeing wildfires in BC. On behalf of council, thank you.”
“We’re proud at how we stepped up and showed what hospitality really means in Prince George. So thank you, but we can do more than say it, we can show it.”
“On Saturday, September 23rd we’re hosting a celebration for everyone in Prince George who volunteered, or hosted evacuees in their homes, or just shared a smile or word of welcome. Everyone is welcome to Canada Games Plaza on Saturday starting at 4 pm for a free barbecue and party into the night.”
“See you there. Be prepared for some spectacular entertainment.”
