Mounties Investigate Theft of Shotguns
Prince George, B.C. – Police in the Vanderhoof and Prince George areas are trying to locate those responsible for a business break-in that resulted in the theft of a number of firearms last week.
Shortly after 3 am last Wednesday, September 13th Vanderhoof RCMP responded to an alarm at Omineca Source for Sports in that community. The thief or thieves had driven a vehicle through the front door and wall of the store. The owner of the business was called and told officers that 6 to 8 shotguns were missing.
Police obtained security footage that showed a white extended cab pick-up heading east on Highway 16 at the time of the robbery. It is unknown if that is associated but a truck matching the description had earlier been reported stolen in Prince George.
Anyone with information is asked to call Vanderhoof RCMP at (250) 567-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
