Canadians are easy to walk on and will never stand up together to change anything the politicians do to us.

If we accept that figure, and relate that to the fact that Canada's population stands at about 33.39 million while the world's population stands at about 6.6 billion, then we can see that Canada has 0.5% of the world's population. Thus we put out 4 times as much GH gas as we should be based on population.

Even if the figure for the Tar Sands project are accurate (I think they primarily report CO2 which is only one of the several GH gases) then Canada would be emitting twice as much as the world average per capita.

"Americans are screaming at $4.00 a gallon". Americans scream a lot ... can we help that. Europeans have been paying more for decades. They don't scream, they do something about it .... so now the SUVs are coming off the lots and the more efficient European cars are moving in.

The moral of the story? Get off your assses and do something other than scream.

Great, so why refine tar sands with nuclear for transportation? Electrify the railroads as they have in other countries, work on improving electric cars and drive hybrid electric cars, and most of the oil needs will be gone.

Use the tar sands for paving roads.

CO2 so called greenhouse gas heating the world. Show me the proof, the real proof. Twenty years ago it was said in ten years the earth would be overheated and oceans rising. In reality temperature rise has flattened and is declining. Oceans are showing a slight decrease in elevation. Global warming is a scam that a lot of people are making money from. Where is the proof on warming?

With respect to extracting oil from oil sands by supposedly requiring 2 barrels of oil to extract 3 barrels of oil simply does not make any sense, greenhouse gas or not. To me that is a last resort.

I would let it sit until we really need it and/or we have better technology to process it with less energy.

OK Owl, I'll get off my ass and vote out these clownes. You may buy into this global warming BS, but under any kind of rational examination, this carbon tax will be a massive screw up and GHG will still rise. Wait for the proposed cap and trade system. Governments have always shown how incompetent they are at administering large programs. This will be no different It really dosen't take a mental giant to see this. I am totally amazed why the general population doesn't guestion the global warming BS. People seem to believe a hollywood movie without question. Mainstream media, now there is a joke. They have been reporting the misinformation so much, they can't back out. When a politician supports something should that not make one at least a little bit supicious. Al Gore is making millions perpetuating this scam. Folks Climate change is climate change the climate is always changing. Ten years ago it was predicted high temperatures and a fast rising tide at this time. Well do you see it happening? No. The natural temperature rise since the little ice age has stopped and temperatures are actually falling. There is even evidence that the sea level has fallen a tiny amount.

Ice ages last 100,000 years. The time between ice ages has been 15,000 to 20,000 years. We are now at 18,000 years since the last ice age. Give that some thought.
