Prince George, B.C. – Quest- West will launch an Areoquest helicopter with survey equipment for an electromagnetic survey in Smithers today.
Lyn Anglin, President and CEO, Geoscience B.C. says they are still in the early stages of the project, however the airborne survey will reveal more, “We have seen potential in this land but we need more exposure. We will complete a 4 kilometer strip that will map the magnetic anomalies and reveal what types of minerals are present. We will be able to see any material left from glacier melt or volcanic eruptions.”
The survey will cost approximately $1.5 million.
Quest-West is an extension of the Quest project which was announced in June 2007. The project has received more funding from Northern Development Initiative Trust through a proposal written by the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako.
