Northern Medical Program Heads to Terrace for Talks

Terrace area physicians are hosting a meeting with the top brass from UNBC's Northern Medical Program.

Dr. Dave Snadden, the Associate Vice President of Medicine at UNBC and Dr. Galt Wilson, Clerkship Director for the porgram are discussing the possibility of developing core clinical training for third year medical students based around the clinical facilities in the Terrace region.

The Northern Medical Program's primary objective is to teach physicians with the skills and experience necessary for practice in rural and northern communities.  The first group of NMP students is in it's second year of studies at UNBC, the second class will start studies in January.

Each year, 24 new students are admitted into the Northern Medical program.
