hahahahahah...well, people make mistakes. Sh*& happens and I don't suppose the judges will be looking on the map for "Pr George, AB". I'm assuming they are flying.
I hear the honey bees are still in decline, according to the queen bee head of the bee association in the Peace River district. When the hive starts to get infected the workers kill off the queen bee and the hive dies.

Has anyone noticed any bees in the flowers around town? The wild bees are in just as much distress. There is an annual bird count every year, might be time for an annual bee count to inventory what's left.

Everyone takes flowers for granted, but no bees = no flowers.

Went through Tillamook, Oregon several years ago, and stopped at their large cheese factory that's right beside Highway 101 on the north end of town. Very popular tourist attraction, seeing how cheese is made, and unlimited free samples of all their different products. The Yanks can really do it up right when it comes to selling you something. Really an excellent example of how to 'market' a very common product. We could take some lessons from them. Few people leave there without buying something.

Anyway, amongst their displays is a letter from the Queen's personal secretary thanking them for sending out a selection of cheeses to the Royal Yacht 'Britannia' when it passed along the Oregon coast bringing the Queen up here after meeting with then President Reagan in San Francisco. Only the letter is addressed to the cheese company in Tillamook, Oregon, CANADA.
About the bees. I do not know about everywhere else but I have 4 or 5 different kinds of bees all over my flowers right now. In the spring I also had hundreds of bees all over my apple trees which have produced an over abundance of fruit this year. :) Maybe we are cooler up here or we have different species of bees but I see no shortage of them in my yard anyway.
Have a nice week all!

This article may answer the question about the bees in British Columbia.

There was an incident in the States some time ago where a resident of the state of New Mexico wrote to the federal government about a problem with his pension and received a letter in response saying that they could not help people outside the US and he would have to address himself to his own government.
Alberta took over northern BC. Didn't everyone know about this yet?
