Air is hazy and blue over Prince George

Prince George, B.C.- The haze over Prince George will likely get worse before it gets better.

B.C. Ministry of the Environment’s Steve Lamble says the high pressure ridge that is over the City is helping to keep pollution in the area “We have had four to five hours of calm with no wind and that’s keeping the particulate in the area. That   will likely change on Thursday.”

In the meantime, Lamble says the air quality may get worse before there is a change and there is a possibility there could be an air quality advisory issued by this time tomorrow. “Right now, we have one station reporting only fair conditions” says Lamble. That station is downtown, and the reading is 31 for Pm10.   The move to a rating of “poor” happens when that reading hits 50.

Still better than Beijing. Count yer blessings. Oh yeah, don't run and breath at the same time especially in the bowl.
Gee, I didn't realize that people were using their wood burning appliances this early in the winter. Question for Mr. Lamble, if there was no polution in the first place would a high pressure ridge mean anything to Prince George's air quality?
