Prince George, B.C. – The Simon Fraser Bridge twinning has meant Queensway is shut down at Highway 97.
Jeff Knight of the Provincial Ministry of Transportation says the closure is necessary for this phase of the construction “Crews are lifting beams for the bridge construction, so traffic will have to use Highway 16 as an alternate route.”
Knight says the Ministry is trying to ensure there is no other construction underway that would further impede the flow through the City. “We have people keeping an eye on the traffic volume at the peak evening periods” says Knight.
The closure of Queensway at Highway 97 will carry through today and tomorrow.

Just imagine how nice it is going to be once they are done building the new bridge and moving the scale out of there.

The interesting part of this upgrade will be what they are going to do with the traffic that comes out of the BCR site at the scale at this time. Underpass, overpass, divert traffic south down
Great St to the intersection at Finning.

Want to bet they leave the light there at the scales?
