Gangster, eh? Such a shame.
Oh BOO-Hoo
First of all, I am so sorry for the victims family. My prayers go out to all of them.
What the heck is going on in our city and with our young people? So much anger and hatred today. Reasons for shooting someone today are as simple as "he looked at me wrong". What could a 19 year old have done that gets him shot? He has just started his adult life. Are there no second chances in life today? Do people skip the talking stage in a conflict now? Do we not try to sort things out before this kind of action is imposed?

Makes a person lose faith in humanity! I think I will go help someone today. :)
Yes it's sad this lil gangster has created extra work for RCMP and PGRH. I will help those that really need it ..and i will say a prayer for the lil gangster also but it won't be a nice one.
The RCMP has clearly stated that the shooting was gang related, Shellshadow. Gangsters don't give second chances, and this "innocent" 19 year old was likely involved in much more than just looking at the wrong guy in the wrong way.
God! Gangsters!!! I feel like I am living in the twilite zone! *Sigh
You guys still don't get it. These are our children doing this. If you think yours are exempt from all this, guess again. Ask them if they know of any gang related individuals in their lives and almost all will be able to (honestly) say yes. Any kid in high school today has been exposed to gang culture. Keep thinking of these kids as "gang members" and not human beings. That's exactly what the gangs want so that they can quietly recruit your own so called "good kids" right under your noses. Then when they get shot or beaten, we will see if you still believe this to be an us and them situation. This is society today and we are all a part of it despite whether we like it or not. Wake up you shallow thinkers and start helping to fix the problem society is creating instead of just passing this off as a small group of criminals. Have you not noticed that even as some eventually go to jail, there is never a shortage of up and comers to take their places? Do you think these kids just drop from the sky?
Well said Realist!! Thank you!
Realist, I think you are being somewhat harsh and judgemental of some of the other opinionators on this forum, and indeed of many others who do not participate in this forum. Come on, shallow thinkers? Do you think that you are the only one who has been exposed to the reality of the problems we face in society today?
Of course some of these kids are our children, I have been dragged into the fringes of the gang/drug culture, very unwillingly by the way, and only to try and save someone close to me from ending up as another statistic.
So HOW do you propose we we wake up and start helping to fix the problem? Got any solutions? Anything we can do legally?
metalman.
The jerk who got shot. I hope the bad guys didn't shoot any holes in his medical card. He did have one didn't he, when he went to the hospital? I pay $96 dollars a month fer mine.
I think what realist was trying to say was that he has a problem with many of the current posts which suggest that gang problems are not concerns for the rest of us. There DOES seem to be a fair number of people out there who write these crimes off as just happening to people who deserve it. The perpetraters and victims are treated as though they are outside the realm of our society. THe point is that these people are PART of our society and thus should be a concern to us all. I am not saying i feel sorry for the 19 year old victim. I dont know the circumstances. I am saying that i am pissed off that law enforcement is so weak that we have bloody gang shootings in our town! I dont think it is wise to cheer when one crook kills another. I dont require fear (of catching a stray bullet) to make me angry at the deterioration of our society.
Hey caranmacil! Its not weak law enforcement that allows the gangs to run freely....its the courts and piss poor sentences for crimes committed.
Remember if the laws get changed and all the crooks get locked up like they should be, all the lawyers would be out of work.

Politicians are mostly lawyers. Politicians are those that make the laws and are those that can change the laws.

Why would they change laws that have brought them and all their lawyer buddies endless wealth all these years?
