According to local historian, Ted Williams, the Exhibition began when a few men got together and hoped the idea of a fall fair would bring together townspeople and farmers to exhibit, compete, have fun and pull the community together.
This year, the fair features a new midway, music from Abba and Fleetwood Mac tribute bands and there will be a special dance on Saturday night.
Last year, the PGX was awarded the prestigious title of “Provincial Fair” as a result of taking top place in a very competitive agriculturally related challenge in 2007(tied with the Bulkley Valley fair in Smithers).
The PGX is an official BC150 celebratory event adding a whole new exciting dimension to the fair.
Today, the gates open at 8:00 a.m. and the gates stay open till 10 tonight.
