Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Service Canada Centre for Youth (SCCY) will participate in the Prince George Farmer’s Market on Saturday August 9 at the corner of Third Avenue and George Street.

The Prince George SCCY will host an information booth to highlight youth employment in Prince George and around the world. Youth and employers can access their services outside of regular business hours.

Vivian Houg, Youth Services Officer, says it can be hard for youth to look for a job especially if they do not know where to start, “If anyone has ever thought about travelling, working or going to school outside of Canada, the Youth Service Officers at the Service Canada Centre for Youth are ready to help explore those options.”

Service Canada Centres for Youth link youth and employers. The Centres provide young people with job postings, interview advice, résumé building and job search strategies and employers with a location to post job openings. SCCYs also provide valuable information on health and safety in the workplace.

Employers interested in using these services and youth looking for summer employment can visit the Prince George SCCY between 8:30am and 4:00pm at 1336 4th Avenue, call (250) 561-5200 ext. 329, or fax (250) 561-5271.

Job postings are available online at www.jobbank.gc.ca., under “Student Job Search”, “British Columbia”, “Prince George Omineca Area”, and then “Prince George.”
