Spruce Kings Look for Assistant Coach, Billets and Volunteers

Prince George, B.C. - The ice is in at the Coliseum and the players are arriving for the start of the 2008/09 season. The Spruce Kings are looking for an assistant coach, billet families and volunteers.
The Prince George Spruce Kings have a rare coaching opportunity available for the right person. The team is currently accepting applications for the position of assistant coach. The successful candidate will have coaching and/or playing experience at the junior level or higher, should be energetic, possess good interpersonal skills and be able to relate to players competing at the junior level. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and Head Coach; salary and role will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

The Prince George Spruce Kings pay a stipend every month to help cover the costs associated with billeting players and they also provide all members of the immediate family with a season ticket. The hockey players range in age from 16 to 20 and are responsible for their own transportation and other personal expenses. Players follow an enforced policy of conduct and have a strict daily schedule that includes morning practice times and continues through the day depending on education and work commitments, team functions and games.

All players will be in Prince George prior to the start of main camp on Friday August 22, 2008.
The Spruce Kings are also looking for volunteers to help out with areas such as ticket selling, greeters, program and 50/50 sales, assistance in the gift shop, with host services and off-ice officials.
