Prince George, B.C. -  The City of Prince George is applying for a $10,000 grant to put towards a special study that it hopes will help the City adapt to climate change. It is expected climate change will have a direct impact on community planning when it comes to infrastructure and operations.
According to City Staff, the Pacific Climate Impact Consortium (PCIC) working out of the University of Victoria has already completed a similar report for Whitehorse, and is working on one for the City of Vancouver.
The study would identify the climate change issues which the City of Prince George would need to address. Those issues could include flood mitigation and snow removal, for example, the City has used more road salt in recent years because of an increase in freeze-thaw cycles.
The full cost of the study would be $20,000 but the grant (if approved) would cover half and the balance would be picked up by the City’s planning department.
The final report is to be delivered to the City by November 1st  this year.

How can one think positive with all the hair brained studies on which that we spend good tax dollars .

Cheers
Maybe their study should be completed before the land by the airport is removed from the ALR.
OMG!! Another study! And geee people, we are applying for 10,000.00 so that we can spend 10,000.00 more of you're tax dollars. And guess what...it is already a done deal so live with it and accept our decision. ROFLMAO Next they will need a 30% wage increase like our provincial government just for thinking of this plan. It just keeps getting more and more rediculous. ***Shaking Head***
