Prince George, B.C. -The Master Plan for Parks and  Open space has been received by Prince George City Council, but the overall inventory of green space will change.

 

The plan, as presented,  did not take into account the private golf courses, but Councilor Don Zurowski says those spaces are being used, and the deficit of green space may in fact be met by such space. He also asked that there be more “on site” green space as the population grows older, there is a need to have green space on site of places such as the campus of care being built at the corner of 20^th and Victoria.

 

The rest of Council agrees and the plan will be revised to include the privately owned golf courses.

 

The public still has an opportunity to comment on the plan, as public comments will be accepted until the end of this week. 

The final plan will be brought to Council for approval and adoption on August 25^th.
