well at least canada would win a medal....last place in the whole olympics. BRUTAL!!!!!!!!!!

We do not support our Olympic athletes like other countries do. Until then, go fish!

Summer athletes have been heavily underfunded hence the results. This is changing (With a large infusion of cash recently) but far too late for 2008.......2012 should be better.

It was interesting to see David Ford rip into Sport Canada after finishing 6th in whitewater today. His funding was slashed only 8 months before the games. Probably one of Canada's best hopes for a medal in 2008 so it was unfortunate but we're focussing on 2012 and beyond so he got the short stick.

No wonder so many good canadian atheletes venture off into the states for university. They get great scholarships, and they are treated like gold. Atheletics is a huge money generator for the big american universities and to have the best they are willing to pay for it with full rides. Not so canada...and that thinking pervades into the Government. Shame on them for treating the atheletes so second class in terms of funding.
