Prince George, B.C.- The Fraud Section of the Prince George RCMP is issuing a warning about a fake letter that tries to scam people out of money.

The letter appears to have been sent out by Money Mart, and the logo on the letterhead looks authentic. The letter advises that the recipient has been chosen to work as a “Secret Shopper” and will be paid   $150 for their time. Enclosed is a cheque for $1,900 and the recipient is asked to deposit the cheque, keep $150 dollars and send the rest to a location overseas.

The letter is fake, Money Mart is not involved in any such offer.

Several such  letters have surfaced in Prince George in the last couple of days.
