Prince George, B.C.- British Columbia has scored high on the Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance’s Annual Report Card.
British Columbia got an A+ because of the plan to use new technology and conservation to make B.C. self sufficient when it comes to electricity production and use by 2016.
Manitoba also scored an A+.
Ontario and Quebec were next in the grading, each scoring an “A”.
Alliance president Ken Elsey says there needs to be more participation from the other provinces.
Prince Edward Island received the lowest mark, a D, for putting its focus on public transit instead of energy efficiency.
A grade of D+ was handed out to Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador. Moving up the scale, New Brunswick and the Yukon were each given a B- and Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and the Northwest Territories were each given a B+.
The report card covers the period from January 2006 to December 2007.
