Prince George, B.C.- There are big changes coming for PGTV in Prince George.
As of September 1st, it will be known as CKPG TV, going back to its Prince George broadcasting roots.   It will end it’s affiliation with CBC and start a new affiliation with “E” T.V.
CKPG TV will add more news, and a new face to its news line up.
Sandra Clermont, who has been with Shaw Cable in Prince George and the star of recent musical productions like Hello Dolly and Nunsense, will take on the responsibilities of being the T.V. anchor for the 5 p.m. television news.
Dave Barry has taken over the duties of News Director since the June 27th departure of Mike Woodworth.
The new program line up and new faces will be presented to invited guests  and clients later today at a special presentation at the PG Playhouse.

Welcome Sandra, I'm sure you will bring some new excitement to the otherwise dreary newscast
a fantastic upgrade to the news environment I look forward to watching CKPG TV news in the future...
Good luck Sandra....
Beauty and brains I hope
Any relation to the Clermont who ran the Canada Post Corp. a while back?
Local girl
I really hope that the 'new' news will either consider a 30 minute broadcast, or figure out how not to have an 'instant replay' at 5:30. It would also be nice to not have to watch the same news clips many times over several days.

And that's This Persons opinion!
Its been nearly a decade since I've watched PGTV... it would be nice if a person could get it through their regular satellite service. I used to watch it every night and would again if it was available.
Hey what will happen to Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts?? we dont have any other local channel so where will we be able to watch CBC??
Never fear eagleone....you can watch PGTV on satellite and have been able to do so for quite a while.

PGTV Channel 2-Cable 3-Starchoice 325- Bell ExpressVU 260.

This information is available on their web site.
I'd stay away from Starchoice if I were you.
good to have "our own" TV station. I suggest a "Discover Prince George" program. Would be good for tourist and locals to see what is happenning here. Have one in Guangzhou, China (called "Discover Guangzhou" on the english channel) and it is very informative.
I got Bell, but channel 260 won't tune in. 261 or 259, but the 260 it just skips by it. I think I need to buy a second receiver or something to make it work.

I heard a while back I could pay a $100 or something to get a second dish to tune in and get the one extra channel, and at the time didn't figure it was worth the cost at the time. I think I'd pay an extra $2 a month for the channel if it would work with existing hardware.
Isn't it somewhere in CBC's mandate that they must broadcast an over the air signal to every community in Canada?
hey eagle one your dish needs a dual LNB so you can hit the 82w EXPRESSVU satellite most of them are just pointed at 91W.buy one ebay for like 10 bucks
Shaw's loss is definitely PGTV's gain...Sandra will bring a touch of class to the station.
Who is PGTV??????
