HE’S BACK!
Prince George, B.C. -   It has been nearly four years since Ben Meisner left the airwaves in Prince George, and this fall, he returns.
Ben Meisner and the Prince George Community Radio Society are working together to bring the popular “Meisner” talk show to the airwaves of 93.1 CFIS-FM.
“The Radio Society’s Board of Directors and CFIS-FM are pleased to bring Ben Meisner to our programming line up as we continue to expand our local news and sports coverage” says CFIS-FM Operations Manager Reg Feyer.
The new one hour program will broadcast on 93.1 CFIS-FM Monday through Friday starting at 9 a.m. thru to 10:00 a.m. The program will be available on the internet through the Opinion250.com website, and the CFIS-FM website.
Although he is at the helm of Opinion 250.com, Ben Meisner is looking forward to being back behind the mic “This will further enhance the interactive component of Opinion250 and will give the internet and CFIS-FM radio audience an opportunity to ask the tough questions of the day.”
Meisner is scheduled to be back on the air, Monday, September 22nd at 9:00 a.m.!

The "people's sheriff" is "back in the saddle"..... Welcome back Ben!
Great news!
Welcome back to the airwaves Ben!
Great news!!! I bet some people are not exactly celebrating this though, tee hee.
It's nice to have someone to bring certain things to light and then we all become enlightened. Welcome back Ben.
Great news. PG has needed a good local talk radio show since he left the air 4 years ago.
Love Ben's insight...great stuff!
Well, I am looking forward to this. It will make for a more informed electorate this Fall. Good on ya Ben.
Excellent Ben, let them have it!
I did not know you when you did this before but have read some of you're posts on here. I like you're way of thinking and look forward to more. Welcome back!
Good show-I'll set my kitchen radio at 93.1 and am looking forward to having discussions on local issues, with Ben at the hellm.
Hallelulah. Ben, you've been missed and this is absolutely wonderful news! Think Gordo will volunteer to be your first guest?
Excellent news Ben! Wondered how long it would take! Great addition to CFIS.
Well it's about time you finished your holiday! Welcome back and i'm certain it will be the # 1 show....now i don't need to tune into 1410CFUN anymore...
One should know when to say enough is enough. Ben's time has come and gone and he should just stick to being an obscure web "news" guy.
What're ya gonna do with all yer new found dough?
this site gets the news faster than any of the other guys.... you're reading it & have registered to comment...so obviously you don't walk your own talk (or print in this case)...funny.....

great news
Awesome! Looking forward to it!
The best news story of the day. Can't wait until the 22nd of September. Welcome back to the airwaves Ben. I am sure you and Elaine will be very busy in the next month. Thank you both for all you do for the little people of Prince George. Good luck with the new show and we all know it will be rated number 1!
that's good news.
I was thinking along those line the other day how it would be great to have a program like Bens old one on the radio to listen to again in time for the election.

My thinking was a program like Ben's in the morning for the serious news and then another in the late evening for someone with big shoulders to take community complaints in a more of a humorous kind of give and go bitch fest like they have in the states. But in any event it will be great to have Ben's program back in time for the up and coming elections both municipal and provincial... and possibly federal.
This is great!!! I could not believe 97.3 did not get Ben to do a talk show when he left the other station. I will definitely be tuning in. If you need a guest host the recently retired Mike Woodworth would be a good choice.
Mike Woodworth is the news director for CKPG I believe
Sorry Duffer your right, I misread another story.
There is an election coming and we really need a guy like Meisner on the air!
This is the best news I have heard all year!
I listened to Ben years ago via the Internet from Alaska. I'm glad to be able once again to hear his voice "on the air".
Congrats Ben. It will be nice to have some talk radio on the local airwaves again.
Looking forward to listenning to Ben again. Congratulations. 93.1fm ratings will soar like an eagle as a result.
Or, he'll be asked to leave.
Glad you are back on the air Ben. You enjoy the job, and we enjoy the entertainment.

What amazes me is that there has been no "talk" show on the radio since you left!

CBC Radio tries, but usual winds up being Sesame Street for Simple Adults. And the rest of the programing is so far left and off the wall that the target audience in outer space has to be doing the CBC Radio program line up.

As long as he gives credit where credit is due instead of putting a negative slant on everything then welcome.

You sound like someone who has once upon a time felt the wrath of the "Meisner".

Ben always gives credit where it is due and attacks where an attack is due.
In our day and age there are more reasons to attack than there are to praise.
That being because there are more and more stupid people being put into decision making positions that should in reality be flipping........ thats right I'll say it again, flipping burgers.

Some people like it when there is no one out there willing to publicly question what they are doing.
Those people don't like it when people like Ben Meisner get in their faces.

Most negative slants as you call them are slants that stupid people create for themselves.
People like Ben are out there pointing these things out and thats exactly whats needed.

Okay... I'll give the program a listen, another chance... but I hope Mr. M. has learned a few things in the past four years about interviews... perhaps I could suggest he read Barbara Frum's book about hosting an interview with class.

:-)

Fairness and truth is much more important than nicities (sp??) and political correctness.
Was Ben let go for saying things certain people didn't like?
My understanding (or rumour) is that Jim Pattison did not like Meisner and, being owner of his former workplace, gave him the boot. If this is wrong, let me know the true reason. I was very disappointed (like 99% of Prince George) that he had to leave. Now, most of Prince George is happy he is returning to the airwaves.
