uesday, August 26th.  Comments received after that date, but before Wednesday, September 2nd 2008, will be included in the public agenda for Council’s consideration. Council’s consideration of the Final Draft is scheduled for September 8th, 2008..

Council recently received the draft and  it was expected it would be back before  Council for  final approval  on the 25th of this month.  The extension  for public input  is to ensure  those who might have been away for  holidays   have every opportunity to make their comments known.

The Parks and Open Space Master Plan will guide the use, acquisition, disbursement and development of parks and open spaces through a detailed review of parkland and the development of broad principles, recommendations and strategies that respond to current and future trends and challenges facing the park and open space system.

This plan is currently being reviewed by individuals, community groups, associations and agencies with outdoor, recreational, environmental and cultural interests relating to parks and open spaces. Input from the public is required to ensure that the provision of parks and open spaces meets the community’s needs.
