Since April 1, crews have responded to 268 fires throughout the Prince George Fire Centre. Of these, 158 were caused by lightning and 110 by human activity.

High temperatures are pushing the fire danger rating into the “high” range in the Cariboo Fire Centre . Most of the Cariboo fire centre is now in moderate to high fire danger. There are pockets of extreme fire danger within the Chilcotin Forest District and 100 Mile House Forest District.
With wind and possible lightning forecasted for the weekend, fire crews are gearing up for what might be a busy weekend.
