Prince George -  Residents are surveying the damage after a hail storm pounded the area from Cluculz Lake to Ness Lake a few hours ago.

People at Cluculz Lake say the storm blew down trees and lightning strikes occurred within the region as the storm passed.

At Ness Lake, residents say that hail the size of quarters fell on the lake area. A lightning strike sent people scrambling, the Ness Lake volunteer fire Dept say that the strikes did not cause any major damage. One resident told Opinion250, that he has lived in the Ness Lake Area since 1952 and has never seen hail this size, including in Prince George.

BC hydro crews are on the scene mopping up the downed power lines including an area up the Pilot Mountain Rd.

Environment Canada had been warning earlier that severe storm activity could be expected.

So far the storm front has missed Prince George.
