40 Year Old Man Receives Burns In Columbus Hotel Fire

Prince George-    A 40 year old man is reported as burned from a fire which broke out at the Columbus Hotel sometime shortly after 6.15 this morning. He has been taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries are not known but eye witness reports say he had serious burns.

Garth Frizzell of Terra Cognita says he was working in his office next door to the hotel shortly after 6am when he heard people yelling outside He then heard loud thumping sounds only to look outside and see people throwing their luggage from the windows of the burning building.

Meantime Fire Fighters from several halls are battling the blaze which has resulted in thick smoke ash and insulation coming from the building.

This is the fourth fire in the down town area in the past few years. Northern Linen, a building at 2nd and Quebec , B&B Music and now the Columbus hotel.
