Prince George-  Firefigthers continue to battle a blaze at the Columbus Hotel On 3rd Ave in Prince George which broke out shortly after 6 am this morning. The blaze has resulted in a thick cloud of smoke in the down town.

Trish Mahoney a guest at the Columbus Hotel says the fire alarm woke her up and she went to the door to discover thick smoke in the hallway. There is no fire escape on the third floor and Mahoney said she had to wait until the fire department arrived to put a ladder to her window.

‘I lost a brother by a fire three years ago in Nanaimo and I now can see how people panic in this kind of situation”.

The Night manager of the hotel told Opinion250 that he could not confirm if all the guests got out of the burning building. A 40 year old man was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious burns. Several others from the building were also taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.

Guests? You mean junkies? Don't u?
Why would you even say that, how unfair it is to think of the people who frequent or even lived there as "junkies". My husband and I frequent the bus quite often we have shared many stories, met new friends and created many memories and we are far from being "junkies". We are very sad to see our friends being out of their jobs and all our "Good Times" up in smoke. It saddens and angers me that there are people so quick to judge, when a trajedy has happened.
Do you mean Tragedy? Not sure what a trajedy is?
Nice comeback, now wipe it off ur chin!!
