The weekend before Hallowe'en has started out as a busy one for Prince George R.C.M.P..

Officers were called out twice to a house party on MacMillan Drive, just off the Pulp Mill Road. The first complainant had said several people were fighting. Police estimate 50 vehicles were parked in the area when they arrived just after 11 p.m., and more than 100 youths were partying outside the residence. Road checks snagged one youth who had his driver's licence suspended for 24-hours.

A return trip for a complaint of seven people fighting just after 3 a.m. this morning found all quiet and no arrests were made.

Meantime, officers say they had no luck finding the suspects responsible for shooting paintballs at people standing outside the Hart Community Centre on Austin Road. That incident occurred just before midnight.

A brief foot chase ended with a suspected thief taken into custody in the Generator Night Club. The man was wanted in connection with a nearby theft, but was also wanted in connection with an escape from custody three days earlier and is facing possible charges of assault on a police officer, in addition to theft-related offences.

And, earlier in the evening, a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 6th avenue and Alward street sent one person to hospital for examination. Police say a car ran the stop sign, hitting another vehicle. Damage is estimated at more than five-thousand dollars. Alcohol, though, was not involved.
