My sympathies to Mr. White's family - biological and otherwise.

From the Globe and Mail today:

"The city has been working to revitalize the downtown area, and the fire is a setback. But councillor Don Zurowski said the city will push ahead in its revitalization efforts.

"It's discouraging - the building had a nice presentation, a good street appeal and it's certainly a loss. But Third Avenue is a much-improved street to what it used to be, we're doing Fourth Avenue next, and I'm confident this property will be used for something productive."

WOW - have we been working to revitalize? On what? 4th Ave is a two-year old, stalled project ballooning in budget.

Vote carefully in November!
""It's discouraging - the building had a nice presentation, a good street appeal and it's certainly a loss."

Are they serious?? That building had zero street appeal, it was unattractive from the front and the back. You are so right leaderless, they need to bulldoze buildings, not just plant trees and lay some paving stone. That is not a revitalization, that's a bandaid!
