Spruce Kings Announce New Assistant Coach

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Spruce Kings have a new assistant coach.
 
35 year old Bayne Koen from Surrey will arrive on Tuesday August 26, 2008 to step on the ice at 7:00pm for the first exhibition game of the season against the Quesnel Millionaires at the Prince George Coliseum.
 
Koen says he is very excited to come to Prince George,"I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. Getting the opportunity to move up and prove yourself is something every coach wants to do."
 
For the past five seasons Koen was the head coach of the Port Moody Black Panthers Junior B team in the Pacific International Junior Hockey League. He has a degree in sports management and a major in physical education from Bemidji State University in Minnesota.
